Mr. William Strang, founder of Overland Park was completed and installed in the summer of 2005 at 80th street and Santa Fe Drive. Mr. Strang faces east and watches the sun rise each morning over the great community he founded. His ambition to create an interurban transportation system in the early 1900s mobilized Olathe, making it possible for people to live in Olathe but have access to downtown Kansas City during a time when many people did not own an automobile.
